The Book of Job
Suffering is an unwelcome intruder that comes into everyone’s life. Followers of Jesus need to be prepared for times in their lives when they’re confronted by the pain of trouble and suffering. The book of Job gives every Christian an opportunity to explore questions that perhaps have never seemed appropriate to admit to anyone but themselves. Job struggled with intense pain and suffering without being given a reason or an explanation, and yet he remained steadfast in his loyalty to the One True God. Can we as 21st-century Christians face life’s most difficult obstacles without denouncing or walking away from our faith? Examine the life of Job and learn some practical lessons about dealing with faith in the real world of suffering.
