PCBC COVID-19 Information

Our Response to COVID-19

In 2020, the Leadership Council at PCBC enacted a COVID-19 policy that explicitly adheres to guidance from the Allegheny County Health Department, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.

On May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control updated its COVID-19 guidance for individuals who are fully vaccinated. The Pennsylvania Department of Health subsequently released updates to the mask mandate and guidance on mitigation efforts.

Together, these new standards in Pennsylvania require the following updates to the safety measures at Peters Creek Baptist Church:

• Fully vaccinated individuals may attend church programs without wearing masks or practicing social distancing measures. A fully vaccinated individual is anyone that has completed the full course of vaccination shots  (2 shots for Pfizer or Moderna or 1 shot of Johnson and Johnson) at least 14 days ago.
• Other individuals, including children over the age of 2, should continue to practice social distancing measures and wear masks unless another medical issue exempts them from doing so.
• Fully vaccinated individuals should assume individuals wearing masks require social distancing unless otherwise instructed by that individual.
• In good faith, the staff and volunteers at PCBC will rely on each individual or parent to apply or indicate the appropriate standard. By default, it will be assumed that any individual not wearing a mask qualifies under the new vaccination standard or another medical exemption.
• All pews will be available for use to allow individuals to space according to their specific needs or restrictions. Social distancing should be offered to anyone wearing a mask to allow them to adhere to current guidance.

Mitigation efforts in Pennsylvania are scheduled to be removed after Memorial Day, and the mask mandate for all individuals is scheduled to be removed once vaccination levels reach 70% in Pennsylvania. Further updates will be provided at those times.
